Dr. Susan Elton is an avid gardener, and wished for a cheerful cottage garden which also reflects her love of Zen gardens. The design draws strong lines from the house. A central lawn, cheerful herbaceous borders, and summerhouse are all united with calm, peaceful areas by the layout and repeated planting. Japanese Maples and other shrubs already on the site dovetail into the whole.

The front garden was made welcoming with cheerful planting and a Rose covered pergola. .
