Courtyard Garden for Wildlife, Leeds

Mary and Martin Swaby, had a lot of great ideas for their courtyard. Their brief was for a garden full of birds, frogs, hedgehogs and insects with a big pond. They wanted also to incorporate some original works of art in the garden. The design focusses around a big raised pot on a stone cube which overflows into a wildlife pond; this can be seen from all the main windows of the house. Pebble mosaics made by Olicana Mosaics complement the urn and surround the water. The garden is a peaceful haven full of wildlife!

Mary says: “Now we are both retired we finally have time to enjoy our garden and Cheri has proved invaluable with that. She used what was already there and added extra plants, water features and hard landscaping that we would never have thought of to make it a really wonderful place to be. At every step from the initial talk to the final design she listened to us, both for what we liked and how we wanted to use the garden, especially how we hoped to attract wildlife to it while still wanting a garden to be in and enjoy."

"We have never received so many compliments from friends for anything we have done, and now enjoy spending much more time in the garden, both relaxing and doing a little light gardening. It’s almost as if we have added an extra room to our house and one which is a joy to be in in good weather and a lovely addition to look at from inside when the weather is not so kind! Thank you so much, Cheri.”
